Project Schoolhouse is a Tulsa Public Schools efficiency initiative that is slated to be an annual process. In its first year, it led to the closure of 13 school buildings. Additionally, all students at eight other schools were reassigned so their buildings could be converted for a different use.

In a second round of recommendations, TPS is looking to close an additional three school buildings and repurpose two other buildings for the 2012-13 academic year. Those slated to close for good are the Sequoyah Elementary School building at 3441 E. Archer St. and the Mayo Demonstration School facility at 2525 S. 101st East Ave. Greeley Elementary School, 105 E. 63rd St. North, will cease operation and be leased to a new TPS partner charter school, called Lighthouse Academy.
