Budget Details

The city's fiscal year 2012-13 budget is largest in Tulsa history at $703.1 million.

Operating budget: $589.8 million, up 3 percent from the current fiscal year

Capital budget: $113.3 million, up 55 percent (largely because of the Fix Our Streets initiative)

Highlights: One police academy of 40, training for 40 new reserve police officers, the hiring of 23 new firefighters, utility rate increases and a first deposit of $2 million into the city's newly created rainy day fund.
