Just three days after a deadly tornado ripped apart Plaza Towers Elementary School, the school community gathered for a tearful reunion.
Larry Jernigan's white Ford turned onto Southwest 11th Street, passing Plaza Towers Elementary School on Monday afternoon. "Suddenly, there's debris flying in the air," Jernigan said. "I looked up, and the tornado was right on top of me."
What 8-year-old Aydan Calhoun needed, three days after the Moore tornado crumbled his Briarwood Elementary School down on him, was a place to play.
