  • Punishment a necessity
    The need for the $700 billion bailout did not develop accidentally. It was caused by greed, theft, fraud, treachery, embezzlement, irresponsibility, favoritism, violations of rules and regulations plus other miscellaneous crimes.

  • Right decisions
    Our Congress is often debilitated by members who become party to acrimonious discord because of loyalty to their parties rather than what is best for the nation. They seem to be unable to work toward creative compromises unless a crisis exists. Even then, the result is a bill loaded with pork.

  • Trick or treat?
    The afternoon of Oct. 3, mere hours after the Wall Street bailout became law, the Associated Press reported, and I quote, "Stocks ended a volatile week with another sell-off Friday while credit markets remained strained after enthusiasm over the government's $700 billion financial rescue plan gave way to worries about obstacles still facing the economy."
