The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice and the members of its Humanitarian Society are good partners.
Members of the society, founded in 2006, share in the ownership of the OCCJ programs that advance its mission through advocacy, conflict resolution and education.
Founding and current Humanitarian Society members were honored for their support during a "Twilight on the Terrace" event at the Tulsa Country Club.
OCCJ strives to promote understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through such programs as Anytown, Oklahoma; Common Ground; Different and the Same; the annual Interfaith Trialogue Series; the Jewish-Christian-Muslim Trialogue Group; the annual Teen Trialogue; and Operation Understanding, the interfaith youth tour now in its 27th year.
Those on the program during the reception included Tr

The program is designed to help educators and their students talk about, understand and prevent prejudice. OCCJ makes the free program available to second- and third-grade classes in the Tulsa area.
Also sharing personal experiences were Angela MacLaughlin, a senior at Northeastern State University, and Alix Goff, a junior at Booker T. Washington High School. MacLaughlin has been both a delegate and counselor at OCCJ's Anytown, Oklahoma camp. Goff attended in 2008 as a delegate and wants to be a counselor when she enters college.
Since its inception in 1994, Anytown, Oklahoma has emerged as a recognized leader in human relations for youth. Anytown promotes self-esteem, leadership and citizenship in a diversity-rich atmosphere. "Anytowners," high school sophomores, juniors and seniors from throughout Oklahoma, come from a broad spectrum of racial/ethnic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Others on the program were Humanitarian Society members Sherri Goodall, vice president for membership; Jim Langdon, OCCJ board president; Nancy McDonald, Different and the Same chairwoman; Bill O'Connor, president-elect; and Adrienne Watt, vice president for programs.
Other OCCJ Humanitarian Society board members attending were Treasurer Lisa Zaidle Clark and David Clark; Ginny Creveling; Oliver Howard, immediate past president; Sanjay Meshri, vice president for fund development; Dr. Andrew Revelis; and Clark Wiens.
