This year's Beaujolais Nouveau is sure to be a home run. That's because Tulsa Drillers Baseball Team owner Chuck Lamson and his wife, Leigh, are honorary co-chairmen of the American Lung Association's wine celebration set Nov. 20 at Southern Hills Country Club.
Sarah Stewart, who is event co-chairwoman with Sarah Dougherty, noted that "the Lamsons have been veteran supporters of American Lung Association and the Beaujolais Nouveau event. We are thrilled to honor them and know they will help us knock it out of the park."
Leigh Lamson said, "We are delighted to serve on the Beaujolais team. Both of our children suffer from asthma and we know the research and programs the American Lung Association provides are so critical to the Tulsa community."
"The Tulsa Drillers organization has partnered with the American Lung Association for over 10 years," Chuck added. "We appreciate knowing the funds raised from this event stay in the Tulsa metro area and directly affect all Tulsa area residents."
The gala celebrates the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine that is released in France each year. Church bells signal that the wine is ready to transport and parades of people line the roads as the wine is driven to Paris. From there it is shipped around the world.
In addition to a first sip of the Beaujolais Nouveau, which promises a year of good luck, guests will enjoy Chef Devin Levine's cuisine paired with an extensive selection of international wines.
Sarah Dougherty asks, "Do you have a bucket list? Ever dreamed of taking a ride in an F-4 fighter jet? Our silent and live auctions will offer experiences you will never forget!"
Sponsors will be treated to a private patron party in October at the home of the Lamsons, catered by Chef Seth Smith of Taste Catering.
Sponsors include American Tank & Construction Co.; Arrow Magnolia International Inc.; Dixie and Mark Banner; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma; Ashley and Daniel Boedeker; Nicole and Jimmie Cameron; Citizens Security Bank; Scott Coffman, McGraw Realtor; Sarah and Paul Dougherty; Shelly and T.W.
