"Trauma" is DOA at NBC.
The network has canceled the expensive medical drama, according to Variety. The series, shot on location in San Francisco, will complete its Monday night run through its 13-episode order and then cease production. It premiered Sept. 28.
"Trauma," starring Cliff Curtis as a first-responder paramedic, was an emergency fill-in in the network's fall lineup after another series had to halt production when "Parenthood" star Maura Tierney ("ER") was diagnosed with breast cancer. She left the series because of a conflict between her medical treatments and the show's production schedule, according to her spokesperson.
NBC's other freshman medical drama, "Mercy," has been picked up for the full season.

The special effects couldn't overcome the bad casting and weak scripts.

I am so disappointed...I LOVED this show. Mercy is a weak substitute and doubt that I will spend my time on that one.

Thank goodness. I was so tired of the promos for this. I just couldn't see a chopper pilot with a childlike look in his eyes, proclaiming, "I love my job." Glad its gone.

They flubbed the whole fall lineup. Monday nights on CBS is the only saving grace. Afternoon UHF, as it were, lineup is crap crap crap. I love Crackle dawt cawm because I can watch movies online during the programming lulls. Then the post 10pm lineup is also messed up.
I have maximized my financial efficiency and only have basic satellite provided by my employer for teleconferencing. They provide what they call the Direct TV financial package. So it gets all the news channels and locals plus BBC America which I actually like. I have an almost neurotic addiction to Top Gear. I can watch it all night before I realize I've watched it all night. When they race a ship, then jet, then boat against a sports car across Europe it gets interesting. Or how about racing a bike against a Mercedes ML500 across London and the bike wins. The race car driver took "The Tube" and came in last.
