Ayelet Waldman is the author of the bestselling essay collection "Bad Mother: A Chronicle of Maternal Crimes, Minor Calamities and Occasional Moments of Grace."
She will share her insight into parenting and sign books at 10 a.m. Sunday at Congregation B'nai Emunah, 1719 S. Owasso Ave.
"She's truly interesting, controversial, funny and speaks her mind," said Jane Mudgett, president of the B'nai Emunah Sisterhood, which is sponsoring and organizing the event.
Waldman's is the first presentation in a two-part parenting series, which concludes Nov. 22.
The late November parenting class will feature tips and tools for creating "more peaceful, harmonious relationships and communication with children," according to press information.
Waldman is a mother of four and is married to Pulitzer-prize winning author Michael Chabon. The film version of her book, "Love and Other Impossible Pursuits," starred Natalie Portman.
Variety's film review declared, "Natalie Portman delivers an utterly fearless performance in 'Love and Other Impossible Pursuits,' playing a bitter, borderline unlikable Manhattan home-wrecker subsumed by grief over the death of her infant daughter."
