BARTLESVILLE - A 25-year-old Bartlesville woman was bound over for trial Tuesday on a charge of first-degree manslaughter in connection with a fatal traffic accident.

At the conclusion of this week's preliminary hearing, Washington County Special Judge John Gerkin ordered a trial for Jessica Ann Brunelle, who was charged in January in connection with the Sept. 28 death of Phyllis Faye Jackson.

Brunelle, who is free on $25,000 bond, is due back in court Oct. 30 for an arraignment.

The crash occurred on a foggy morning. Brunelle told authorities she was driving 60 mph, but the airbag module in her truck showed she was traveling 83 mph when her vehicle struck a truck driven by Jackson, a court affidavit states.

Brunelle told authorities she was running late while taking her children to school.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Jackson was pinned in her vehicle for about 20 minutes before firefighters freed her. She died later at Jane Phillips Medical Center, an affidavit states.
