BARTLESVILLE - A 25-year-old man died this week in an apparent drowning at a condominium complex.
Sarath Chandra Avadhanam, a resident of the Willowbrook Condominiums, was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.
Police Capt. Jay Hastings said authorities received a call about 1:25 p.m. that a man had been found at the bottom of the complex's pool.
There were no witnesses, but the drowning appears to be accidental, Hastings said.
"A roommate said he went to do some laundry and they figured he must have decided to get in the pool," Hastings said.
"His roommate said he was not a swimmer."
When emergency responders arrived, people were pulling the man from the pool, Hastings said.
It appeared that he had been in the water for 10 to 15 minutes, and he was not able to be revived, Hastings said.
