Anglers of the Day

Boyd Duckett

The 2007 Classic champion from Demopolis, Ala., knows full well the pressure that comes from winning on your home lake. He is the only one to do it. "There's a lot of pressure ... and obligation to family, friends and the community. It's hard to fight through it, but you do your best." Duckett had three fish to raise his total to 34-2.

Shaw Grigsby

This Gainesville, Fla., angler found a surprise at Grand Lake. "The fish I caught in practice and the December free fish were small. When I slowed down (at the Classic), I caught a few big ones. Now, I know they are there." Grigsby had five fish for a 10-8 total for an even 40 overall.

Tracy Adams

The Wilkesboro, N.C., resident was an Open qualifier and had five fish for 15-12 and a total of 45-2. Adams followed the wind and knew its positive and negative effects on the fishing. Saturday's low catch by many was the big surprise. "They just didn't bite. It was terrible."

Bobby Lane

The brother of the 2012 Classic winner, Chris Lane, knew it would be an uphill test for brothers to win back-to-back titles. "He (Chris) mentioned an area or two to fish. I know I needed something big to have a strong finish." The Lakeland, Fla., angler caught five for 9-13 to finish at 38-12.

Bill Lowen

A consistent angler from North Bend, Ohio, Lowen caught another five for an even 10 to finish with 36-8. "My style of fishing is in shallow water. I consider myself a grinder and fish by my gut. At the end of the day, that equals a lot of bites."

Big Bass of the Day

Jason Christie of Park Hill, Okla., caught just four on the last day, but one of them was a biggie at 6-3. He finished the tournament with a total of 43-5. Christie was one of the Classic favorites and one of three Oklahomans who made it to the third day of competition.
