College Football Notebook: Minnesota's Kill returns to work

Minnesota's Jerry Kill has worked hard to embrace his epilepsy, becoming an outspoken advocate for research of the condition that can include seizures without a moment's notice.

OSU Football Notebook

Two seasons ago, OSU won a Big 12 title with the aid of exceptional special teams play. One department that proved lacking was the punt return unit.

OFFENSE

Blake Bell

QB - Oklahoma

Junior completed 27-of-37 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns in Oklahoma's 51-20 win over Tulsa. All of his numbers marked career highs. The Wichita, Kan., junior did not throw an interception. Bell's 413 passing yards were the most by an OU quarterback in his first career start, passing Sam Bradford's record of 363 yards vs. North Texas in 2007.

DEFENSE

DB - Kansas State Senior picked off a pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown in K-State's 37-7 win over Massachusetts. It was the second straight week K-State registered a pick-six. Daily finished the game with two interceptions which marked the first multi-interception game by a Wildcat since Allen Chapman had three against Oklahoma State last season, while it tied for the sixth-most in a single game in school history. He also added three tackles.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Josh Stewart

Punt return - Oklahoma State The junior scored on a 67-yard punt return and took a second punt back 41 yards to set up an OSU touchdown in lifting the Cowboys to a 59-3 win over Lamar. Stewart finished with 114 punt-return yards for the eighth-highest single-game total in Oklahoma State history. His 67-yarder marked OSU's first punt return for a touchdown since Josh Cooper had a 66-yarder against Troy on Sept. 11, 2010. It was also OSU's longest punt return since 2009.
