A Broken Arrow man arrested Sunday was booked into the Tulsa Jail on Tuesday after an alleged drunken driving crash that sent his 5-year-old son to a hospital.
Kevin Martin, 24, was arrested by Broken Arrow police just after 6 p.m. Sunday after the crash, an arrest report states.
Martin's vehicle was found overturned on the east side of Lynn Lane Road in Broken Arrow, but the report does not say in what block.
The report states that a power pole was destroyed and that power lines were touching the ground, starting a fire.
Martin and his son were "covered in blood," according to the report. The child had "severe, disfiguring lacerations to his face and neck" and appeared to be in extreme pain, the report states.
The child was taken to the hospital immediately, according to the report, but no update on his condition was available Tuesday.
Martin told police the child had been in the rear passenger side of the vehicle and was not in a child restraint.
Martin also told police he had drank "half a pint of Jim Beam" about 3 p.m., about two hours before the crash, according to the report.
Police reported finding several broken liquor bottles and one half-consumed bottle of tequila among the debris of the crash.
Martin failed three field sobriety tests, according to the report, which says his blood alcohol tested 0.18 and 0.19.
Martin is held on complaints of driving under the influence - injury accident, child endangerment, child restraint violation and transporting an open container. His bail is set at $28,850.
