More than 4,000 patients were tested, and 89 tested positive for hepatitis C, five for hepatitis B, and four for HIV.
The bus had two occupants, a driver and an 8-year-old girl. The driver had a suspended license, police said.
Recent problems with Broken Arrow's water taste and smell are likely due to algae growth, Broken Arrow Engineering and Construction Director Kenneth Schwab said in a press release Wednesday evening.
The city has received several complaints about the water recently and dispatched workers to test the water and flush the water lines, the city reported.
The water passed bacteriological requirements and is safe to drink, according to the city.
Schwab said a "substantial amount of rain" increased runoff that carried nutrients to water sources.
With the increased nutrient loads, algae blooms have exploded in northeast Oklahoma waters, according to the release.
Broken Arrow Water Plant Manager Jimmy Helm said the problem, in which the water tastes dirty, earthy and musty, arises every year before the situation normalizes on its own.
The city will continue to monitor the water quality, the press release says.
