GLENPOOL - A 9-year-old boy was flown by medical helicopter and five other people were injured when a Toyota pickup rolled several times during a crash Sunday.
Witnesses told police a black SUV was driving erratically and passed a silver Toyota 4Runner using the center turn lane and inside shoulder of U.S. 75 just after noon Sunday.
As the northbound SUV tried to pass the pickup, the driver of the pickup swerved to avoid the SUV and lost control near 171st Street, a Glenpool police officer wrote.
The pickup reportedly flipped four or five times, ejecting four children. Two adults were in the truck when emergency responders arrived.
A 9-year-old boy was flown to Saint Francis Hospital with head, arm and leg injuries, the report states. The other occupants were transported to a hospital by ambulance.
A man followed the driver of the SUV, who later pulled over near 141st Street and was arrested, police said.
Christian Albert Cisco, 20, of Jennings was booked into the Tulsa Jail on complaints of failing to stop for an injury accident and reckless driving, records show.
A passenger in the SUV reportedly described Cisco as having a lead foot and told police that Cisco said, "I can't believe that happened. I didn't think they would crash," and kept driving.
His bail is set at $10,500.
