Golf: ORU sticks in 12th

The Oral Roberts men's team improved 10 shots and moved from 15th into a tie for 12 after two rounds of the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, hosted by Illinois State.
Mary-Kate Halsmer put in her seventh career game-winner on Sunday to lift the Oral Roberts women's team to a 3-2 victory in overtime against Arkansas State at the Case Soccer Complex.
Scores across the board were higher on Monday, and the Oral Roberts men's team shot a 302 to remain in a tie for 12th with Illinois Wesleyan and Missouri State. The Golden Eagles shot 896 (302-292-302) at the D.A. Weibring Inetercollegiate in Normal, Ill. Loyola-Chicago won the event, 16 shots ahead of ORU. Scott Newell led ORU with a 219, (74-68-77), tied for 16th.
