PGA: Zach Johnson rallies, wins BMW Championship on Monday

Zach Johnson is having a September to remember, and there's still one very big week to go.

Jim Furyk birdied two of his last holes, stuffing a gap wedge into just over 3 feet on his final hole Friday at the BMW Championship, and knocked in the putt to become the sixth player in PGA Tour history to shoot 59.

Furyk shares the lead with first-round leader Brandt Snedeker, who was nine shots clear of Furyk at the start of the day and shot 68.

"A very cool card," Furyk said as he gazed at the scores, which included an eagle when he holed out with a 9-iron.

It was a day he won't forget, in the same town - the Chicago suburbs, anyway - where he won his lone major at the U.S. Open in 2003.

It was the first 59 on the PGA Tour since Stuart Appleby in the final round of The Greenbrier Classic in 2010.

Miyazato leads at Evian: Mika Miyazato of Japan shot a 6-under 65 to take the lead after the rain-delayed first round of the Evian Championship, the year's fifth and final major.

The tournament was shortened to 54 holes after play Thursday was washed out.

Top-ranked Inbee Park, making a bid for her fourth major of 2013, got off to a bad start with a 74. Suzann Pettersen bogeyed the last hole to fall one shot behind Miyazato, along with Hall of Famer Se Ri Pak and Sandra Gal.

Jimenez tied for lead: Pablo Larrazabal shot a 4-under 66 to join fellow Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez (67) atop the leaderboard at the KLM Open.

The co-leaders are at 9-under totals of 131.

Noh leads Web.com Tour: Seung-Yul Noh shot a 6-under 65 in cool, breezy conditions to take a two-stroke lead in the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. Noh had a 9-under 133 total in the third of four events in the Web.com Tour Finals series.
