Jean Ann Valente, 81 years old, she and her Maker decided to meet on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 7pm. Born to Fate and Ruby Miller in Rogers, AR, October 22, 1931. She attended Rogers High School, was a majorette, sang vocals with her 4 sisters growing up known as “The Miller Sisters”, and was active with Rainbow Girls. She later worked for the local phone company. One of Jean Ann’s favorite pastimes and passion was bridge. Jean Ann was known by her infectious smile that showed her great capacity for love. She was as an avid lover of jazz and opera, jewelry, cookbook collector, and art lover. Jean Ann was an extraordinary person who loved life to the fullest with deep passion, humor and love. She and her husband, Don shared their blissful years of love and companionship, residing in Tulsa where they enjoyed an active social life. Together they took cruises, enjoyed the Opera and “Jewels of Jazz” music, and theatre. Preceded in death by her beloved parents; husband; and two sisters, Faye Barron and Martha Harp. Survived by: her two daughters, Terri McDonough and husband, David of Garfield, AR and daughter, Becky Slater and husband, Danny of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandsons; two granddaughters; five great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Shirley Esche and Donna Gully residing in Rogers, AR. Her peaceful, vibrant approach to life was a real inspiration to our family and it is our prayer that she will continue to feel our love and appreciation. Jean Ann glorified God in her own radiant way, through her service and participation in many Tulsa community charities where she served as Chairman through the years. She was able to adjust to the many changes of a lifetime and found happiness and rewarding activities throughout all life’s stages. She truly had the gift of clever conversations and easily making new friends and keeping the old with her warm, genuine smile. Thank You Mom for all the precious memories. I’ll be seeing you.
