Piguet Nora Yvetta Rudd Piguet went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 14, 2013 from her home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

(Dec. 14, 1937-Sept. 2, 2013) John David Cowan was born to Sigma Henry and Ethel Wood Cowan in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and died in Thornton, Pennsylvania, he was 75 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol. John was an alumni of Will Roger’s High School and the University of Tulsa where he received his R.O.T.C. officer’s commission with the Air Force and his degree in aeronautical engineering upon graduation. He served in the Missile Command and spent the majority of his active duty at Maelstrom AFB near Great Falls, Montana, as a missile crew officer through the 1960’s where he met his wife, Carol, in 1963. John did his post-graduate work at Purdue in the ‘70s where he also started his family. In 1980 he went to Boeing in Philadelphia as an engineer and in 1991 he went to work for the Department of Defense in Richmond, Virgina. John was in the marching bands of both Will Roger’s High School and the University of Tulsa. He was always an avid Clarinet and Alto Sax player, playing regularly into his 70’s. Family trips to museums and visiting civil war battlefields as well as taking in a baseball game now and then were his favorite pastimes. He is survived by his children, Edward and Alison Powers and her husband, Dave, and their son, Jim. John is also survived by numerous cousins, Pauline Giddens, Dorothy Whitworth, Stephen Stockton, Elizabeth Stockton James, Brenda Stockton Hiss, Nan Barnes, Julia Hart, Ryman Henry Flippen. Memorial services will be September 13th, 7pm at Meadowcroft Presbyterian Church, 1255 S. Westtown Road, West Chester, PA 19382. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be sent in John’s name to the Tulsa Zoo Friends, 6421 East 36th Street North, Tulsa, OK 74115 This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 9/10/2013.
