Former Mayor Kathy Taylor on Tuesday unveiled a five-point plan to improve transparency and accountability at City Hall.
Taylor will face Mayor Dewey Bartlett in the Nov. 12 general election.
Speaking at an afternoon press conference, Taylor said the city is failing to proactively share information.
Under her five-point plan, the city would place all contracts online to ensure that the public, not special interests, are served and expand opportunities for citizen input and collaboration, Taylor said.
Taylor’s Transparency and Accountability Plan for Tulsa includes:
1. Implementing the correct policies to ensure government puts transparency first
2. Improving the open records request process to provide information more quickly
3. Making the city’s web site more user friendly
4. Updating city’s financial and information
systems so that more information can be put online
5. Keeping information up to date and holding government accountable
