A Bixby man was arrested after reports that he punched and strangled a woman during a fight late Monday.

Michael Scott Buttery, 39, was arrested by police at 10:16 p.m. Monday on domestic assault and battery by strangulation complaint, jail records indicate.

The victim told police that she and Buttery were traveling in a vehicle from the River Spirit Casino when they got into an argument over $100, according to an arrest report.

Buttery is accused of striking the woman's chest and punching her in the face causing her lip to bleed, the report said.

Once they arrived home, the report states that Buttery began to strangle the woman while she was holding her 2-year-old son and in the presence of her 11-year-old daughter.

Buttery was taken into custody after officers observed several injuries on the woman's body, the report said.

He remains in the jail held without bond.
