SAND SPRINGS - Osage County authorities were looking for a man in connection with a Tuesday evening homicide, and an Amber Alert was issued for the suspect's 6-year-old son.
Chief Deputy Charlie Cartwright said the Sheriff's Office is seeking Robert Leroy Connor III, who authorities believe killed his son's grandmother and left with the boy about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
Cartwright said the killing was in the "Sand Springs area" of Osage County and that authorities think Connor and the child could be in the Sand Springs, Glenpool or Tulsa areas.
Connor was born in 1975, Cartwright said. He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and 200 pounds with short, brown hair. He has several tattoos on his arms. He's believed to be in a tan 2004 Ford Crown Victoria with tag number 197-HNK, Cartwright said.
The child is Decklan Connor, whom the Amber Alert described as Hispanic.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Osage County Sheriff's Office at 918-287-3535.
