Dewey Bartlett

Current mayor (elected 2009)

When I took office in 2009, Tulsa was in trouble. We were spending ourselves towards bankruptcy, our crime rate was climbing and jobs were fleeing the city. Resolving these three items are my greatest accomplishments. We worked hard to make government run efficiently and reduce wasteful spending to resolve the budget. We’ve lowered the crime rate by implementing Police Chief Chuck Jordan’s plan to move the TPD back to a “beat” system. Finally, I am proud to see Tulsa attract over 9,000 new jobs during my administration, despite anti-business policies of President Obama. I hope to continue this momentum.

Kathy Taylor

Former Tulsa mayor (2006-2009)

The achievements I am most proud of are ones that made the biggest difference in Tulsans' lives, such as: Saving 7,000 jobs at American Airlines; providing a path to a college education for 10,000-plus students by helping launch Tulsa Achieves, resulting in more Tulsans with a college degree earning higher wages and filling workforce needs from within; managing our response to the ice storm - firefighters visited 66,000 homes to ensure citizen safety, workers turned lights back on in record time, the city removed 2.6 million cubic yards of debris and launched a plan to re-green Tulsa and replace thousands of trees lost.
