JENKS -- The Jenks Public Schools website has been down most of the day because of problems at the Wichita, Kan., company that provides Internet filtering services to the district.

The outage has disrupted the district's online student registration, which is required before schedule pickup times and ahead of the start of classes Aug. 19, said district spokeswoman Bonnie Rogers.

Officials have come up with a workaround so that students may still register online through School Office Pro at tulsaworld.com/jenksregister. The workaround information can also be found on the district's Facebook page. If students are unable to access the site or complete the process at home, computers will be available at school sites during the schedule pickup times.

Rogers said the company has told the district their website should be back in operation by Wednesday.
