SAND SPRINGS — Osage County authorities said early Wednesday police in Texas have located a man wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred Tuesday night.

An Amber Alert was also issued for the suspect's 6-year-old son.

Authorities said Robert Leroy Connor III, who they believe killed his child’s grandmother and left with the boy about 9 p.m. Tuesday, is in Lewisville, Texas.

A Dallas TV station is reporting Connor might be in a motel with the child and is surrounded by a police tactical team. Connor was born in 1975, authorities said

Authorities said the homicide was in the “Sand Springs area” of Osage County.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.

Connor is described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall and 200 pounds with short, brown hair. He has several tattoos on his arms.

He’s believed to be in a tan 2004 Ford Crown Victoria with tag number 197-HNK, Cartwright said.

The child is Decklan Connor, whom the Amber Alert described as Hispanic.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 918-287-3535.
