Little Light House benefit concert

More than java is brewing at Foolish Things Coffee Co., which will host a benefit concert.

The opening act will be an acoustic trio of ladies: Leah Mushegan, Amber Mushegan and Heather Stevenson. Following that, lead singer Donovan Fite of local Brit-alt-pop band The Lonelys will perform. After that will be awesome guitarist Jason Swanson (who's known to play two guitars simultaneously) and, the main act, pop artist Ty Mayfield, accompanied by an acoustic guitarist and Cajun drummer - the same trio he performed with during his tour with Tyler Ward.

Proceeds from donations will benefit The Little Light House in honor of Benjamin Davis, a student participating in the school's annual Mini-Laps fundraiser Sept. 21.

Event details: Friday, Aug. 23 - doors open 6:30 p.m., concert 7-10 p.m. - Foolish Things Coffee Co., 1001 S. Main St.
