Rain possible again in Tulsa area today

Rain chances are forecast once again for today, with additional chances forecast for Tulsa later this week.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today. However, new rainfall amounts of less than 0.1 of an inch are expected without a thunderstorm.
Although many morning commuters saw light rain and wet roads, Tulsa has not recorded any rainfall at the Tulsa International Airport so far today and recorded 0.05 of an inch on Monday, according to the weather service.
During the past two days, an Oklahoma Mesonet site on the northeast Tulsa Community College campus has recorded 0.1 of an inch, as of 9:20 a.m. today.
The weather service also forecast a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Tulsa on Thursday; a 70 percent chance Thursday night; and a 50 percent chance Friday.
Before Monday's rainfall, Tulsa had not recorded any rainfall since Aug. 16, according to the weather service. Normal rainfall for this time of September is 2.26 inches.
Tulsa temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s to low 90s early this week, then the low to mid-80s by this weekend, according to the weather service. Overnight lows in the low 70s are expected to fall to the upper 50s by Saturday night.
Tulsa's temperatures are almost 5 degrees above normal this month, as of Monday, according to the weather service. The highest temperature so far this month was 99 degrees on Sept. 7 and 8, while the lowest was 61 degrees on Sept. 4 and Saturday.
