Mikey Weinstein, a controversial figure who has been called a champion for religious freedom by some and a notorious anti-Christian zealot by others, will speak Sept. 21 at a Tulsa Interfaith Alliance awards reception.
Proposals needed for 2014 Re-Mind & Re-New
Phillips Theological Seminary is seeking proposals on "Keeping It Real: Listening to the Laity" for the Re-Mind & Re-New 2014 conference.
A proposal should be no more than 250 words and should address the topic "I would be helped if clergy would ... ." Each presentation should last 20-30 minutes, and presenters must be at least 18 years old. Deadline for proposals is Monday. The conference will be held Jan. 22-23.

Finance expert Ramsey to return to Tulsa on Oct. 10
Radio host and personal finance expert Dave Ramsey is headed to Tulsa again.
With "Legacy Journey Live," Ramsey will speak on developing a budget and getting out of debt. His daughter Rachel Cruze will also share her experiences growing up as a Ramsey kid and learning about money from a young age.
The event will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Mabee Center, 7777 S. Lewis Ave. Tickets start at $49.
