A Sand Springs man was arrested after reportedly driving under the influence with two small children in his vehicle.

Cody James Austin, 21, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. Saturday after leading police on a pursuit that began in the 2300 block of South Highway 97 in Sand Springs, Austin's arrest report said.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle before Austin sped away. He was later captured in the 500 block of North Grant Avenue, police said.

Officers observed that a woman, 3-year-old boy and 2-month-old infant were inside Austin's vehicle, the report said.

Police also discovered in the vehicle a glass pipe and marijuana. Austin also admitted to police that he had been drinking alcohol and smoked marijuana earlier in the day, the report said.

Austin was booked into the Tulsa Jail on eluding, child endangerment, failing to use child passenger restraints, driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, not wearing a seatbelt, operating a vehicle with a defective headlight and improper stopping complaints, jail records show.

He is being held on $30,176 bond.
