A Tulsa woman was charged with child neglect Tuesday on an allegation that she placed 13 pounds of merchandise she was attempting to steal on top of her 2-month-old child.

Nadasha Dawn Becker, 24, is accused of covering her baby in 13 pounds of "shoes, clothing and merchandise" she had attempted to steal from the Sears at 1901 S. Yale Avenue on March 17. The baby was in a stroller, according to court documents.

Becker was charged with larceny of merchandise from a retailer in the same incident April 5 and received a two-year deferred sentence April 29.

Becker was ordered to complete 40 hours of work in the Tulsa County Work Program within 180 days of her conviction, court records state.
