Ex-players Nethon, McGee say Cowboy football does care

In the final chapter of "The Dirty Game," Sports Illustrated said so many players have been jettisoned from the Oklahoma State football program and wound up in bad situations that this question should be asked: "How much did the program really care?"

OSU will investigate claims made in Sports Illustrated series

Citing a strong appetite for its "Dirty Game" series on Oklahoma State football, Sports Illustrated released the fifth and final chapter a day earlier than originally announced.

Here is a list of events postponed or canceled by Monday's storm:

Tuesday

Tulsa Shock first-round pick Skylar Diggins' reception with local business leaders

Wednesday

Big 12 baseball tournament, Oklahoma City (start of tournament pushed back to Thursday)

University of Oklahoma Wichita, Kan., Caravan stop (will be rescheduled)

Additional sports-related relief efforts:

Tulsa Oilers

The Oilers are partnering with the Salvation Army to collect donations for the victims of the Moore tornado.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, donations can be dropped off at the Oilers Ice Center, 6413 S. Mingo Road. The Salvation Army is asking for the following items:

Bottled Water

Gatorade

Wet Wipes

Individually wrapped snacks

Hand sanitizer

Work gloves

Sunscreen

Heavy-duty trash bags

Personal sanitation items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant)

The Oilers Ice Center will be accepting donations from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.

During Memorial Day weekend public skating sessions, the Oilers Ice Center will be collecting blankets. Anyone who donates a new or used blanket will be granted free admission and free skate rental on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

OSU wrestling

Several Oklahoma State wrestlers will join other collegiate wrestlers and coaches from the state Saturday to hold a free wrestling clinic at the Oklahoma Wrestling Academy in Edmond.

Monetary and material donations will go to the Oklahoma branch of the American Red Cross.

Sessions will be available for wrestlers in grade school through high school. The first session is 9-11 a.m. and the second session is 2-4 p.m.

The event is led by Tyrone Lewis, an All-American for OSU from 2001-04. He will be joined by 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Coleman Scott. National champions Chris Perry and Jordan Oliver also are expected to be in attendance.

ORU track and field

The Oral Roberts track and field program will host a pole vaulting exhibition to raise money for victims of the Moore tornado.

The "Vaultin' for Moore" fundraiser will be held at the H.A. Chapman Indoor Practice Facility on ORU's campus at 1 p.m. June 1.

The exhibition features 2012 NCAA national champion Jack Whitt and Meet of Champions record holder Tommy Dial.

Event T-Shirts will be for sale for $20, and money will also be raised through entry fees and other donation options. All proceeds go to the Oklahoma Red Cross.
