An investigation into a Tulsa dentist has revealed that one person contracted hepatitis C as a result of a visit to that practice, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health and Tulsa Health Department.
The bus had two occupants, a driver and an 8-year-old girl. The driver had a suspended license, police said.
CLAREMORE - Workers this week began razing the old Rogers County Courthouse, which was erected more than 70 years ago.
"I'm excited it to see it go and move on to the next phase," County Commissioner Kirt Thacker said.
County employees this summer completed their move into a new $19 million courthouse. The former facility was built in 1941 and expanded during the early 1980s.
In its place will go about 200 parking spaces and a roughly 400-square-foot plaza. The area also will feature security barriers, sidewalks, green space and several lighted, 50- to 60-foot flagpoles.
DT Specialized Services Inc. of Tulsa is performing the demolition.
"They didn't really give us a timeline because they are trying to go slow enough so they don't tear up any underground utilities," Thacker said. "But they will probably have it done in a week or a week and a half."
At 105,000 square feet, the new courthouse is about twice the size of the old one. It is a result of a ballot measure in December 2009, when more than 73 percent of county voters approved an extension of a 0.167 percent sales tax.
