The Tulsa World is looking for photographers to shoot all the action surrounding high school football games - the fans, the bands, the mascots, the cheerleaders and plays on the field. This will be in addition to the staff photographers we send to area games.
We covered 30 schools and had more than 900 photos to choose from when we created this gallery. See what we liked or see all the galleries from Week 2. If you like a photo, you can buy it.
Below are three sophomore football players who were standouts in season openers and have the potential to be key high school performers through 2015.
Keats Calhoon, Victory Christian
Calhoon completed 20 of 22 passes for 323 yards in a 49-20 victory over Webster last week. In 2012, Calhoon completed 171 of 263 passes for 2,517 yards and 18 TDs to lead the Conquerors to an undefeated regular season. The Conquerors are expecting Calhoon to be more of a running threat this season. Victory plays Regent Prep on Friday.
Colton Penrod, Bartlesville
In his first start, Penrod passed for 435 yards in a 31-24 loss to 5A No. 6 Bishop Kelley last week. Penrod completed 24 of 41 passes and connected on three TDs. Bartlesville visits East Central on Friday in a matchup against one of last year's top sophomore quarterbacks, Tre'von Cherry.
Trey Sneed, Kiefer
Sneed had 139 total yards and two TDs in a 26-24 victory at Afton last week. He carried 18 times for 73 yards and also had two receptions for 66 yards. He rushed for 1,012 yards and 13 TDs last season to help the Trojans post a perfect regular season.
