Basketball: Thunder adds Tulsa radio partner

KAKC, found on am1300 and also known as The Buzz, will be the Tulsa radio home of the Oklahoma City Thunder under a multi-year partnership agreement.

In advance of its sixth season in Oklahoma City, the Thunder announced on Monday that it has switched to a new radio affiliate in Tulsa.

After five seasons on the Tulsa Sports Animal (97.1 FM), the Thunder and Clear Channel Communications have agreed to a multi-year partnership that results in game broadcasts being carried on KAKC 1300 AM.

KAKC also broadcasts games for the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder's NBA Development League team. With new radio affiliates in Broken Bow and McAlester, the Thunder Radio Network has been expanded to 13 stations (12 in Oklahoma and one in Joplin, Mo.).
