Productive swing: Before Dustin Garneau's seventh-inning grand slam Sunday, Tulsa pinch-hitters were only 8-of-51 with no homers and three RBIs this season.
Winkler honored: Tulsa pitcher Daniel Winkler was named the California League's pitcher of the year. Winkler, 1-1 with Tulsa, was 12-5 with a 2.97 ERA at Modesto. Tulsa pitcher Christian Bergman won that award last year and Chad Bettis, who pitched for Tulsa this year before moving up to Colorado, was the winner in 2011.
On the road: Fireworks will follow the Drillers' games at Northwest Arkansas on Thursday and Friday. Thursday's game also will include an appearance by "Saved By the Bell" star Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding) on Teacher Appreciation Night.
