Two more former patients of Tulsa oral surgeon Dr. W. Scott Harrington have tested positive for hepatitis C, according to the Tulsa Health Department.

That brings the total number of hepatitis C cases in former patients to 73. Five have tested positive for hepatitis B and three for HIV.

Harrington may have exposed at least 7,000 patients to the disease through unsanitary practices and poor infection control procedures at his practice. He voluntarily stopped practicing March 20.

Testing for former patients is still available at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center, 5636 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. To make an appointment, call 595-4380.

More than 4,000 patients have been tested, according to the health department.
