Let’s hope Oklahoma country starlets Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert get along in real life, because they’re at each other’s necks everywhere else.
They’re again going nose-to-nose for another female country vocalist award, this time it's this year’s 40th Anniversary American Music Awards, to air live 7 p.m. Nov. 18 on the ABC network. They’re both nominated for Favorite Female Artist — Country.
The pair is nominated for best female vocalist in this year’s Country Music Association Awards and were nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in the Academy of Country Music Awards. (Lambert won that last one back in April.)
Both compete with Taylor Swift, also nominated in for ACM award in the same category.
Underwood earned a second nomination in the Favorite Album: Country category for “Blown Away,” where she’s up against Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Rascal Flatts, featuring Picher native Joe Don Rooney, will go against the Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum in the Favorite Band, Duo or Group — Country category.
