SAPULPA -- Investigators are probing the cause of an early morning house fire but suspect someone intentionally set the blaze, officials said.

A motorist on New Sapulpa Road reported smoke in the area of south of West 81st Street around 4 a.m., said Fire Capt. D.J. Keizor.

Crews found a home “100 percent” engulfed in the 8400 block of Westway Road and worked for about 35 minutes to contain the blaze, he said.

The homeowners had not been living in the home for about a month, and neighbors had recently reported suspicious activity at the residence, said Fire Marshal Chad Tanner.

Fire damage to the structure resulted in a total loss.
