Working a photojournalist, every day is a new venture. In my two months at the Tulsa World as an intern, every day has been completely different. The shifts can be hectic, and the scenery changes quickly.
Yesterday, I was out photographing Fat Guys Burger Bar near ONEOK Field, a personal favorite of mine. As a burger lover, it was the first place I went in Tulsa for a hamburger, and returning for a work assignment was something I looked forward too.
Little had I started taking photos in the kitchen, when I received a call from Chief Photographer Tom Gilbert saying to drop what I was doing and hurry to a shooting scene just miles away.
Some days you never know what to expect, within 8 minutes I went from the kitchen of a favorite restaurant to the scene of a drive by shooting. Thankfully no one was injured at the shooting, and I was soon back shooting at the burger joint.
