Obviously I am passionate about photojournalism and good photography. In this digital world sometimes the power of a photographic print is forgotten. I spent the morning at Central Library, one of my favorite places, hanging prints of winning photos from the Great Plains Journalism Awards.

One of the most prestigious journalism awards contests in mid-America, the Great Plains had entries from hundreds of reporters, editors and photographers. Major publications included the Tulsa World, The Oklahoman, Kansas City Star, Omaha World-Herald and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The prints will hang through the month of June on the second floor of the library. It is free and open to the public.
