Today is Tulsa World summer photo intern Garett Fisbeck's last day with the paper. He will continue his career and development with an internship with the Dallas Morning News.

In his short time here with the Tulsa World, Garett created a unique and intimate body of work. He covered assignments ranging from the Moore tornado to fireworks on the Arkansas River to the crowning of Miss Oklahoma and everything in between. Favoring subtlety and nuance, Garett has produced photos that convey rapport with his subjects and a ease with the situations. This early in his career, Garett's photos already communicate an understanding of relationships and moments that result.

I look forward to watching him grow as a photographer and we wish him luck in the future.

Here are some of my favorite photos from Garett's summer with the Tulsa World.
