On Wednesday I was assigned to photograph the swearing in of our newly elected State Representatives and State Senators. It was right there in the assignment, swearing in. My goal was get something different than people raising right hands and taking oaths. Sure I shot that , but I was thrilled to pick up the paper on Thursday and not see one of those right hand raising photos published. Those photos a too obvious. Here: Katie Henke signs her oath of office.

This time of year my schedule is incredibly busy. Football season means long Saturdays and busy weekdays. It doesn't leave a lot of time to blog, so I haven't been able to do this in a while. But, I find myself sitting in a hotel room in Pittsburgh, Pa.; on the road for another Saturday football game. I thought it would be a good time to do one of my favorite parts of the job: blog. Here are some of my favorite photos since the last time I blogged.
