Summer break is almost over for area high school students. This week, members of local high school bands meet to start rehearsing for the shows that they'll perform at football games and competitions during the fall. At Bixby High School, the 145 member band meets early in the morning to work on their marching technique. At 7 AM on Wednesday morning, the group was marching as the sun came up.

Director of Bands Jeremy Parker, says they march outside early to avoid the heat of the day. By 11 AM, they break for lunch, when kids have enough time to eat and relax. Then they meet inside the band room to rehearse the music of the show.

Here are some images of Wednesday morning's practice.
