Driving through an Owasso subdivision I came across this turtle. I was shocked when I was able to put on a macro lens and get eye to eye with the animal. I have never looked at a turtle's face so close up. The details and color really surprised me.
It had a huge piece of algae on it's back which appeared to make walking hard. I broke a cardinal rule of journalism and got involved. I retrieved my monopod from the trunk and scraped the algae off it's back.
