I was on assignment in Collinsville when the sky darkened. Several people commented to me how excited they were for the rain. I was excited for the rain, but also because during this time of year in Oklahoma rain is news. It is fun to have a story to chase.
When I arrived back downtown after sending in a couple photos from Collinsville, the sky kept lighting up with some well defined lightning bolts. I recently turned 40 and decided to see if my old man reflexes would fail me or if I could still capture some high voltage photos. My percentage wasn't as high as it used to be, but I was able to get a few.
