This Wednesday morning, I drove up to Oologah for a photo for my intern project, and while I was there, I visited a local landmark.
The day before, I asked coworker Mike Simons if he knew of anything interesting in the area, he showed me the lost space capsule of Winganon, and gave me rough directions on finding it.
After finishing my work, I drove north of Oologah, through Talala, and found the missing space capsule.
In reality, it is actually an old cement truck, that was repainted to look like a vehicle the astronauts would use to return into orbit.
My favorite feature of the well done trick: a phone number instructing you to "Call if found" lead directly to a hotline to NASA's public relations department.
The missing capsule even has a facebook page to check out, with photos of it's creation.
