Shooting with available light in high school arenas

We all received our new Canon EOS 1DX cameras recently, and the improvements over the Mark 2 are night and day especially when shooting in dimly lit situations.
I noticed the most dramatic difference when shooting the All State wrestling tournament at Bixby High school gym on Wednesday.
It is bright enough to shoot with available light with most cameras if the subject isn't moving, but when shooting sports you need to use a fast shutter speed, so in the past I've used a mix of available light with a strobe on a low level to create a balance.
With the 1DX, it's possible to shoot over 50,000 ASA, and without much noise, this enabled me to shoot the wrestling at a speed of 500, at 10,000 asa, with the F stop at 5, and the results looked great.
I am no longer going to fear those dark arenas, I think I speak for most of the photography staff when I say this is the best camera I've ever used.
