As I arrived at t Masjid Al-Salam for a story on the beginning of Ramadan I was greeted at the door by a smiling face offering me dessert. I started to think as I watched the worship about how lucky I am as a news photographer to get to experience so much diversity in my job. I realized that many people may never experience an event like this.

The interesting thing about covering different religions from my own is it always amazes me how similar they are. Sure, the language is different, and some of the motions are different, but it is obvious as you watch there is so much the same. I appreciate the worshipers allowing me to sit and observe. I was treated like I belonged there, and made to feel right at home.
