The front lines of the fight against meth

Crystal methamphetamine is on display at the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs' Tulsa office on Friday.

Law officers arrested almost two dozen people Friday morning in a warrant sweep intended to cut the supply of meth from Mexico into Tulsa.

Officials from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs were kind enough to let the press come along. The day started before dawn and ended with a press conference displaying meth that was taken off the streets.

It was like a real-life scene from "Breaking Bad" or "The Wire".

According to the OBNDD, the arrestees had ties to Mexican drug cartels. The cartels bring several pounds of crystal meth into town each week, and it is divvied up among smaller-scale street dealers.

Naturally, the folks being arrested didn't want their photos taken. I can't say I blame them.
