Rainy days and Mondays

I wanted to try out my new camera the Canon 1dx in video mode. It shoots a full frame image and is a bit different than my Canon 5d Mark ll. What better way to test than to be stuck in your car shooting a thunderstorm. Downtown Tulsa was hit by a isolated storm right after lunch. It was perfectly sunny then the lightning and some thunder and then the rain, it really came down hard. I think the camera's audio picked up the sound pretty well. I usually use an external mic to capture audio on my 5d Mark ll but it was in the back and I would have gotten a good soaking getting it. I guess that really didn't matter since I got soaked to an extent anyway.

I am still adjusting to the controls of the camera and as I grow older I need some help with focusing which is on video display on the back of the camera. I don't have this one set up for a Zacuto magnifier yet and that will help on focusing as well as holding the camera steady when hand held. This camera does auto focus although when shooting rain all cameras have a difficult time trying to figure out what to focus on.

I really enjoyed just thinking about the rain and enjoyed the sights and the sounds too. Hope you enjoy. Have to watch it till the end to see the soaking.
